Structure |
The conference will consist of papers presented to both plenary and parallel sessions, as well as poster displays and an exhibition.
All papers will be published prior to the conference in a bound set of proceedings to be distributed to delegates. They may also be included in one or more guest-editions of scientific journals. (see Publications)
The official language of the conference will be English.
Plenary sessions of the Conference will be addressed by four invited speakers.
Norman Glass
Chief Executive, National Centre for Social Research
David Pullinger
Head of National Statistics Online, ONS
Peter Mouncey
Cranfield University School of Management
Ian Diamond
Chief Executive, Economic and Social Research Council
Contributing speakers will address themed sessions taking place in one of four, parallel streams. Thematic and organisational details will be finalised at the end of the selection process, but the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) has selected papers that address the impact of technology on the Survey Process (see the conference programme), plus case studies.
In addition to formal presentation to conference sessions, the SPC would also like to encourage the preparation of posters as an alternative means of communication. Posters (A1 size) will be on display throughout the conference, and a specific slot will also be timetabled to enable discussion between poster authors and delegates.
To stimulate the development of this medium, a prize will be awarded to the best-presented poster as judged by the SPC. The rules for the poster prize will follow the standard set for the Poster Prize awarded at the last two Compstat meeting. Details of the procedure and the results, including the winning and commended posters, are available here.
A spacious Exhibition Area will be located in the Arts Centre adjacent to all the Conference plenary sessions.
The same area will be used both the exhibitor stands
and the displays for the Poster Sessions; Details of the Exhibition and Sponsorship opportunities can be found here.
