The Impact of Technology on the Survey Process

The ASC's 4th International Conference on
Survey and Statistical Computing

Wednesday to Friday, 17 to 19 September 2003
at Warwick University, UK

The Association for Survey Computing held its fourth
International Conference on Survey and Statistical Computing
at Warwick University from 17 to 19 September, 2003 .

The central theme of the conference was
the Impact of Technology on the Survey Process
,
and the the programme can be viewed, with abstracts and presentations.

The conference, inter alia, explored the often-complex relationship between the push and pull of technological changes and the expectations and demands created by them. It also sought to examine how outcomes feed back to affect the processes which initially gave rise to them. Although a conference about technology, the topics discussed will appeal to everyone with an interest in survey and statistical design, data collection, analysis, reporting or dissemination.

Special events during the conference included the award of a prize for the Best Presented Poster, and the announcement of the shortlist for the new MRS/ASC Joint Award for Technology Effectiveness
