ASC/MRS Technology Social Evening
Wednesday
14th March 2007
at the
Grouse and Claret Pub
14-15 Little Chester Street, Belgravia SW1X 7AP
(Nearest tubes, Victoria and Hyde Park Corner)
We would like to invite all ASC members
to our next evening social meeting on Wednesday 14th March. We run these
events quarterly and they are free to ASC members. The objective is to
provide a short briefing or discussion on a technology topic of interest, followed by an
opportunity to socialise with your friends and colleagues in the industry. We
provide bar snacks and drinks, paid for by the ASC until 8.30pm, although
we will have the venue for the whole evening if you want to stay on.
This time we will be having a "Question Time" format with a panel of people representing the research industry who will respond to questions about survey computing posed by the audience. We hope this will prove an entertaining and informative event.
The panel will consist of:
AJ Johnson, Head of Online Research, Ipsos MORI (Chair)
Rowland Lloyd, Operations Director, Ipsos MORI
Tim Macer, Managing Director, meaning
Pat Molloy, Managing Director, Pulse Train
Gary Nelson, Senior Consultant, Cobalt Sky
If you would like to propose a question in advance, please send it to the panel Chair, AJ Johnson
Places are strictly limited due to the size of the venue and you must reserve your place in advance by e-mailing Sue Taylor.
The event is open to ASC members, MRS members and those who work at MRS Company Partner organisations. If you do not fall into one of these categories you may attend the first meeting at no charge, but will need to satisfy our membership requirements to attend future events - it is possible to join the ASC at the meeting. If you have any doubts please contact the ASC administrator.
‘Question Time’ comes to Market Research technology
‘Just like the BBC programme but without the cameras and that Dimbleby bloke!’ was the feedback from one attendee. Not sure about that, but this event was certainly enjoyed by the large group who attended
The panel expertly handled question posed by the audience, and debated the need for multi-modal software, the potential of Web2.0, the future of batch tabulation and the potential of all our jobs disappearing to India – not bad for one evening. Not only did the audience supply the questions but also fuelled a healthy debate around each of the issues. The crowd was left asking for more but were soon cheered up with the sight of the free bar!
