We would like to invite all ASC members to our next evening social meeting on Thursday 14 September. We run these events quarterly and they are free to ASC members. The objective is to provide a short briefing on a technology topic of interest, followed by an opportunity to socialise with your friends and colleagues in the industry. We provide bar snacks and drinks, paid for by the ASC until 8.30pm, although we will have the venue for the whole evening if you want to stay on.
On bicycles and bulldozers:
freewheeling to success with technology-led change
to be presented by Tim Macer (meaning Ltd), is about the common issues and learning to be gained in the
implementation of business process change when adopting new software. Tim will
be speaking from his experience of technology-inspired change management in
organisations, on how to avoid bulldozer tactics and introduce change in a way
that keeps everyone happy.
The topics to be covered include:
Change aversion and technophobia - resistance or inertia?
Bulldozer tactics (and why they donıt work)
The curious legacy of IT in marketing research
Going for the downhill glide: Successful strategies in IT implementation
Places are strictly limited due to the size of the venue and you must reserve your place in advance by e-mailing Sue Taylor.
If you are not an ASC member you may attend your first meeting at no charge, but will need to be a member to attend future events. The cost of membership is currently £30 per year. Please bear in mind that some companies take out corporate membership so you may already be an unwitting member. If you have any doubts please contact the ASC administrator.
