Unlike the previous two ASC international conferences we did not attempt to divide the conference (and our work) into; data, analysis, results and software. Rather we created eleven themes that cross these divides and have grown out of the common issues addressed by our authors. In many cases these reflect the fact that each stage of the survey process is becoming increasingly integrated.

In reviewing the abstracts that were submitted, it became clear that several major themes emerged from the papers being proposed. While these topics are being investigated in many different ways a common sense of direction can be seen.

The content of the conference reflects:

There are also excellent papers on data analysis, good practice and a few that we hope will make people think in new directions.

We were also fortunate that our six invited speakers are drawn from diverse backgrounds that ensure a wide perspective on the changes that are occurring in the industry.
